Chiropractic Services & Techniques that a Chiropractor at Burke Chiropractic Center Can Perform

For many who suffer from chronic back pain, the typical reaction is to take pain relievers. Doctors might also prescribe pain killers to help them cope with the discomfort. Taking medication, which may help with pain, does nothing for healing. In order to actually heal, you need someone to make sure that the system that controls healing isn't injured. If you've been injured and have pain, it is critical that the control system, your nerves, be addressed to make sure they are not being damaged. If they remain damaged and you simply take medication, healing can't fully occur.

Burke Chiropractic Center is one of the leading providers of chiropractic care in the Minneapolis Metro area. Headed by Dr. Barrett, a well-known chiropractor in the state of Minnesota, our clinic has the equipment and a skilled team of chiropractors to provide a full range of chiropractic care. We particularly specialize in post-accident care using tools and techniques that help align and adjust the body back into place.

We start with the same process used in general health care. When you decide to come to us for help, expect that we will respond with compassion and perform the following steps:

Before beginning any care for your body, we will first gather as much information about your condition as possible through a closed-door consultation. You should provide us with honest and accurate description of your history and current symptoms so that we can perform the necessary diagnostics to get to the cause of your problem. In addition to physical examination, palpation, range of motion, orthopedic and neurologic testing, we will rely on infrared thermography and X-ray imaging, which may be necessary to assist in identifying the cause and any complications of the problem. You may need an MRI or CT scan but we won't start there.

After determining the cause of your condition, we will present a plan that will help you achieve optimal health. We'll discuss the plan in detail and with your approval we will work together with you to help you get back to a normal pain free life.

Recovery takes time.  Nothing the body does happens instantaneously.  Healing takes time.  We will do everything possible for you to get healed up and back to everything you want to do as quickly as possible.

Here are just a few of the health issues and post-accident problems that our chiropractic care addresses:

Our Techniques

Once we have determined the cause to be subluxation or misalignment, our chiropractors will use extremely effective chiropractic adjustments and exercises for you designed exclusively for you. This will result in measurable changes in your examination findings in thermography and even the misalignments found on images of your spine. Chiropractic adjustments restore the normal communication of your nervous system to your muscles and organs. After that, doing the exercises will restore your spine back to it’s normal alignment much more quickly.

Our chiropractor will determine by what is found on the imaging studies to make recommendations on whether manual adjustments (the doctor uses hands only) or instrument adjusting (the “clicker” thing), or a blend of both, to get you well the fastest. Ultimately, it’s your choice. We understanding some people love the “cracking” sound and some aren’t so crazy about it. Either method is safe and effective. You get to choose the method you prefer.
